Biconical Antenna OBC-530-20W-1
The OBC-530 antenna is designed for mobile or handheld power testing. Due to the high electric field strengths that mobile phones or handheld transmitters can produce at close distances, traditional radiation testing methods require relatively high power and are typically conducted at distances of 1 to 3 meters. The OBC-530 is designed with a butterfly shape, which not only covers a bandwidth of 500 MHz to 3 GHz but also reduces the testing distance to 5 millimeters, using approximately 10 to 20 watts of transmit power to generate electric field strengths far exceeding those of mobile phones. This wideband radiating antenna allows for rapid wideband testing without the need for antenna changes. This butterfly-shaped antenna is commonly used for immunity testing of components in industries such as automotive, medical technology, and aerospace, where resistance to interference from handheld transmitters is often required.Additionally, the OBC-530 can be converted into a completely different antenna form, a biconical antenna, by switching accessories. Typical applications of this biconical antenna include the evaluation of test sites, field strength measurement, and the generation of defined field strengths (such as Effective Radiated Power (ERP) or Equivalent Isotropically Radiated Power (EIRP)). Thanks to its wide bandwidth, there is no need for time-consuming antenna changes like those required with tuned half-wave dipoles, and the biconical elements allow continuous scanning across the entire frequency range.
